Line Arrays
« on: 18 Sep 2010, 11:37 am »
Hi all, I have a few questions concerning Line Arrays. I have a dedicated theater room 15x20 which I set up a 7.3 surround system. I have the upgrade itch and I am very interested in the Line Arrays. That being said I cannot build speaker cabinets let alone finish them so I would need the cabinets finished and ready to assemble.

Is my room to small for Arrays?
What is the cost for Cabinets?
I listen to mostly rock music, would these be good and if so what array would you recommend?
I want to be able to play at reference levels without distortion.

3000-7000 price range

Thanks for the replies

James

Our room is about that size and our arrays work great. We have 50 watt tube amps and they play loud enough without distortion to drive me out of the room and I like to listen loud. I've had no regrets about arrays and Rick is great to work with.

The cabinet cost will vary according to what options you choose (veneer, hardwood trim, etc) and your location (shipping cost). Feel free to PM or email and I'll be happy to help.

Forgot to add - I'm working on a new array technology and testing some modules this weekend.  :thumb:

I have Selah Symmetrica arrays as L&R fronts
Selah 128 arrays for rears, Selah Sardonyx as a center,
and 2 Selah dual 12" powered subs.
Powered with Sunfire 5400 and a Sunfire TGP-5 pre/pro
This is one of the finest 5.2 systems I have ever heard.
I would highly recommend Ricks arrays.

Thanks, I also use all Sunfire equipment. I have a Theater Grand and 2 250x2 stereo amps for the front channels as well as the TGP5
I can see his Arrays are very highly regarded on several boards. I like the designs, like to play loud, and I want it to sound good. I want the rock concert experience in my house. I use my room for 70/30 music then theater. Over time I would like to have a setup with all Selah speakers.
