According to Andyg (one of the project developers at Logitech), the release date of their new Touch player has been delayed again. It was originally scheduled to be out last December. Then in mid-December they announced it would be out this month (February.)
However, in a post in the Slimdevices forum today, Angdyg stated that "we're looking at a couple of months until release." This would presumably mean April or later. That means that people who pre-ordered last October for a Christmas delivery will have waited six months for their player if release date number three is actually met this time.
Apparently the warehouses are full of finished product but the squeezebox server version 7.5 software needed for the Touch has proved far more difficult to debug than originally anticipated.
It'll be interesting to watch this story.
