Info. sought: acoustic absorption v frequency?
« on: 20 Jan 2010, 03:26 am »
Hi all,

I'm looking for figures that relate the sound absorption properties of various materials with frequency. The best expression of this would be as a graph with db attenuation on one axis and frequency on the other. I guess mass and other factors come into it but basically those should be the constants.

Any thoughts on where I might look?

If you don't get any productive responses here, I would look in the Acoustics Circle.

Best,
Anand.

Thanks Anand, perhaps I should say that this isn't a room treatment question and I've done some searching but frequency and hard figures are what I'm after.

Thanks Scotty, the bobgold site particularly, is brilliant and loaded with good figures.
