You listen in your attic

Better the attic than the cellar. Heat rises and it's less damp than cellars can be. Plus the attic peak might be a good thing when compared to a square rectangular room. But access must be a PITA, especially for them loudspeakers.  :duh:  I know I'd feel mighty comfortable up there myself.  :thumb:

After our little spat this is a nice surprise...the nice side of satfrat  :D

If you are ever in S.F. you have an open invitation to the attic.

No surprise really AFAIC. As I had said in our PM's, I was more than willing to delete my post but it was you that didn't give me an opportunity to do so.  :dunno:  Even tho I'm very opinionated (as most of us are), that doesn't mean we can't get along.  :thumb:  I like that room alot but I can't say I'm a fan of drop stairs. Carrying a cup of coffee (or whatever) has got to be a PITA.  :duh:  But them stairs are definitely an upgrade deterent.  aa

Agreed.  The drop stairs was the only option.  Here is a photo during construction.  I built the attic from this.

Looks like you're a pretty good carpenter, you did yourself proud with your "mancave". Myself, it's a 50-50 shot when using a hammer if the nail will be hit or my thumb instead.

The attic might make for some interesting acoustics.  However, it would certainly limit what gear goes up.  I couldn't imagine getting my SVS sub up there.  Maybe you can rig a pulley system to get the monoblocks up there.  Or, cross your fingers for development of some digital amps you like.

I can just picture it, the wife and kids come in the room beneath the attic looks like it's snowing indoors with all the plaster falling :)

My attic is 25' x 25' with 15/12 pitch roof. It could be made into a super master suite but as for an audio cave I think not.
