marantz 1530

Hi-

I am thinking of buying a Marantz 1530.  I know nothing about older receivers and was wondering if someone wouldn't mind giving me some tips about what to look at, worry about, etc... It is being sold for $135 from a vintage stereo/antique shop, and it apparently works.

I don't know much about them, other than they are 30wpc. I recently picked up a well cared for 1530 and am very pleased with its sound and power. Not using FM yet, just for CD play.  :thumb:

check out the Marantz forum on AudioKharma; lots of guys there with great knowledge & very helpful.  I just bought a Marantz 2240, and those folks provided a lot of useful advice & help.

Enjoy!  The vintage Marantz are just special (even to look at)!
