Optical Digital In with SA-XR45

Has anyone tried using one of the optical digital inputs on the XR45 from their CDP? If so, are the results as wonderful as running 75 ohm digital coax?

Tyson has both optical and coax in his HT system. Maybe he can comment.

I have only used coax. I don't even have an optical cable

I tried both optical and coax on my '25.
Both sounded very good - and I couldn't tell much if any difference.

My Dvd player (panny xp-30) only has an optical out. I have been using this as a transport with the 45. It sounds pretty good. I will bring the xp-30 to Tyson's for the shootout and let you know how it sounds.
