I am exploring a few options for my CD source.  There is a Jolida 603A that can be had pretty cheap, however I do not know much about this older player.  Is the 100A vastly superior?  Can the 603A be made as good with mods?  Can either unit be altered to allow remote volume control like the Ah! Tjoeb 4000?  Thanks for any help.

The 603 was a good sounding player but does not come close to the new JD100, even with mods.
 Another issue was the 603 was plagued with transport problems. This was due to bad transports from Sony. There were some redesigns in the later models that would be indicated by a blue display.

  Remote volume? Nope.
