Yeah, but the two of them together cost about the same as one power cord that I use on everything else I have. So a pair of those batteries and the charger seems pretty low cost to me.

Yes, I'm not talking cost...it's minimal compared to other "stuff".  I'm just saying that with 200 AH of battery, one shouldn't have an issue with a buffer / amp.

I'm just going to have a buffer.  I think that 20 AH should work for a couple of days max.  right?

Just for the buffer alone that will power it just fine.

I did a little tube rolling in my buffer and settled on some Amperex, Orange label, 7308's, and man this combo is sounding great!

The others that were pretty good were some 6H1N's, some JJ's.

Hey guys, I just did some measurements on the current draw of the buffer. I found that with normal 6DJ8 and equivalent tubes the thing uses 400 ma, if you use Russian 6N1P's it uses 700 ma. So with that in mind and we all know batteries are not the same, we can probably get 2 hours or so. So you can easily calculate how much battery you need for your application. Around 2 hours on each amp-hour of battery. :thumb:
