Future of the Logitech Transporter?

Considering a Logitech Transporter, but the current model has been out for 3 years. Has anyone heard/or does anyone know if the next generation will be released in the near future?
Anyone know what feature changes may be in store?

I'd image at least they could bundle it with the better remote and charge more for it.

I don't have a transporter, but do own a Duet.

I seem to remember that the strong point for a transporter was the ability to pass 24/96 files. The new Logitech Touch is suppose to do this for a lot less money. The Transporter is suppose to have a nice DAC though.

I was pretty impressed with the Modwright modded Transporter I heard

Can't justify that much on a DAC at this point, but I liked it. Had a weird look to it too, with antennas for Wifi on the back and a huge rectifier sticking out of the top

there is some discussion on the slimdevices forum that suggest they are quite satisfied with the current model (transporter) and do not have plans to change it any time soon.

there are many other benefits beyond the higher resolution ability. i use mine for the digital out only and was floored when i switched from the duet. i suspect the power supplies, aes/ebu ability and better overall components contribute to the significant overall sonic improvement from the sb. i suspect it will also outperform the touch as well.

ipod touch and Transporter ? That is awesome! Please elaborate. As for the Transporter's performance, its a killer! Why try to re-invent it? In stock form its digital playback. But with a few in house upgrades, fatigue free playback.

I did not commission someone to inside hack the output stage or power supply. Its a well thought out design as is. I just simply worked on tuning the AC line. I also improved the rfi/emi mechanical isolation on my IC's and modified the power cord just to mention a few things, which was key to relieving the burden on its own power supply. A mod done by someone else is not as much fun anyway.

The final result is a player that sounds like Analog at the push of a button. It is a tremendous bargain.

Simply install the iPeng app (download at iTunes apps store) and away you go. Remote itouch/iphone browsing and selecting/playing. It is awesome.
