I will first say a big thanks to both Danny and Gary.  Everything in the room sounded great, even if I did get to hear the DAC while it was having issue, but before and after that it sounded amazing.

Danny,  I think as long as your bringing big speakers, your going to need a larger room, this will also allow you to bring some of your other designs also.

Gary,  Thank you for setting up your headphone amp in the bathroom.  Even if it wasnt under the best listning conditions, it sounded really really nice.

Danny we need to cross paths more often 4yrs is way to long

I think for GR Research the best solution is the two room approach, since it seems like one of the more social rooms, along with Salk &  Von Schweikert rooms. I'd also suggest that if you have two rooms, that Danny stays mostly in the smaller system room, where people are less likely to linger - giving you more customer flow.

I tried 4 different times and was only able top get a seat once in the GR room, and that was after a 2 song wait. It seemed like each time I came back a lot of the same people were still in the room - not really giving other attendees a chance.

Even with a cursory listen, I think the GR rooms were my favorite, both considering cost and not.

Virtue would like to give you a huge thank you and hug, not only for driving a million people down to our room to hear the exemplary V2s, but for allowing us to hear what you hear, which can't be done without speakers like yours.

We've been building amps for 3 years now on the basis that batteries didn't matter that much.  And with even high-resolution systems this presumption has been largely validated -- our little amps sound "great" with the upgraded 130w supply on most sytems out there (one customer runs his $60,000 speakers on them).

On Saturday night you educated Michael and me.  Our after-hours audition on the Venues revealed everything.  Every little pimple in our equipment, especially in the switching supplies, was exposed.  I consider that 30 minutes we spent together the highlight of my audio career.  Anyone who has an opportunity to buy a set of Venues: buy them.

We were of course equally humbled by Gary's genius on the tubes.  Thankfully there are a handful of speakers that need more than 15 watts, otherwise, I'm not sure we could keep building amps in good conscience.  Gary's work is breath-taking.

Guys, thank you humbly.

Steven, thank you the recognition.  Danny, Gary, Robert, the dB Audio Labs guys and I worked hard to make our little room sound as good as possible.  You placed us in some heady company.  It is good to know that we were appreciated.

Regards,

Dave

Good show
I'm feeling pretty good about my system - I have components from all the players above except one . The results are the system is really sounding good.
I would add John Prator KCI Cables to the mix ..fantabolous cables ..if that is a word ?

David the Majik Buss has been added to the 'proverbial list' now saving up   :thumb:

Robert  S when will we see the upgraded Sasons at the show ? I thought you would have been at RMAF ?

Danny,

LOTS of chatter about GR Research over at audiogon right now.  I'm on a thread for a guy looking for high sensitivity speakers for his low watt tube amp to drive.  There are probably 12-15 recommendations for your Super Vs from folks who went to RMAF.  Thought you'd want to know.

Also, since the thread is discussing rooms, my vote for next year would be to have a larger room or two rooms showcasing your smaller stuff too.  The Neo2x is phenomenal for the price and talk about a steal with it hooked to either a Dodd or Virtue Amp.  I know they aren't as sensitive, so the Dodd might not drive them loud, but I think people would come away stunned at what a couple of thousand can get them.  Peachtree did well with this setup - they drove their Nova into some $3500 Zu speakers, but also into their $1000 bookshelves (which I really liked, by the way) and I suspect it worked well for them.
