May have to part with my Khartago extremes. :(
« on: 20 Aug 2009, 03:16 pm »
This is hard for me to even post as I love my amps so much.  However, this dang economy is still affecting the financial/insurance world.  I work in IT for a huge company that has had many layoffs over the last year.  We just recently received a 7% paycut, and 3 members of my team were let go.  They are currently looking to restructure some of us, and I don't know what is going to happen after 10yrs in this department.

So in the event something were to happen, my wife calls this being proactive :), I'm looking at some things to sell.  With two kids being active in sports and other activities, my other children the Khartago's are not getting much attention...

****If this is against rules, let me know and I can post in the Trading section, just wanted my fellow Odyssey brothers to know first...

My Khartago extremes were custom built by Klaus himself 2 years ago, in my opinion a 10/10 condition, and like brand new with no scratches or anything.  To be honest, in the few years, I've really babied these things, they probably have very low hours on them.

They still have 18yrs left on the warranty and are transferrable to two more owners.  They have the upgraded red boards, upgraded wiring, double the capacitance, etc....

Klaus told me they are basically Stratus Mono's in Khartago cases when he built them for me..Klaus or Alex, if you know of anyone that is looking for some like-new used amps let me know...

I really have mixed feelings about selling these, but I would rather see them getting some use and make one of you a happy camper...

Below are some pics, I have all the original documentation, calibration CD, boxes, etc.

PM me if interested.  Best Regards....Randy

I understand how you must be feeling  :(
I'm in a very very similar situation with the company i work for having filed ch 11, and its assets are now being sold off. No idea what'll happen to a majority of us.
I own khartago extremes as well ... love it. :thumb:

All the best!

Wow! These amps kick some serious butt. My B&W CDM 9Nts have come ALIVE... like they just woke up from a deep sleep. I'm not an experienced audiophile so I can't use all the colorful descriptors that you guys have but I love what I hear.

I should also say that I am extremely grateful to Randy for making this such a painless and worry-free deal. I'm sorry he had to part with these but I promise to take good care of them. My family and I will enjoy these very much. Thanks Randy.

Alex,  enjoy !!!
And you're definitely doing it right,  enjoying it for the music regardless of being a toy or not.  Also,  don't worry about any of the audiophilia dictionaries.  To a large extent it's a lot of bullshit,  and there are many who will throw around said descriptors without having a clue or try being important in this very unstable psychology of audio paranoia .
Simply enjoy the music.  If you like what your system does,  then you're there.

Late,

Klaus
