Grandeur vs Cima vs Prestigio

OK, so what wins? Which gives the most realistic vocals and overall the most realistic presentation ignoring bass extension given that subwoofers will likely be added. Hard choice?

I think Grandeur might be easier for DEQX people, as in its easier to measure a single driver than a pair of mid basses.

Any opinions? Rick's especially.

Well, I"m the only one who's listened to all three.  :D

Rick always seems to give the appearance that he loves all his children equally.  :D
If you call Rick, he is more than happy to discuss things with you and based on your situation he will help you choose a design that should be good for you. He just seems a bit reluctant to show favorites in public.

I considered the Prestigio, the Cima was out of reach as far as $$$.

For myself, I have never heard any of the three, but after exchanging e-mails and phone calls with Rick. I am about to get an extended audition of the Grandeur.  :thumb:

Part of my decision to go with a Grandeur was that I was not planning on using it for home theater, and we don't listen at loud levels, so an MTM like the Cima or the Prestigio was probably overkill, and the single woofer Grandeur was a bit more financially friendly.

My guess is that all three would sound excellent, but based on listening habits, and preferences Rick should be able to help you decide which one would suit you better.

Cheers,

Chuck

Chuck pretty much nailed it - I love all of my children.  :thumb:

Which one is best? That really depends on what you need for your particular system and listening preferences. For some tube amps that like a higher impedance load the Grandeur is the best choice. If impedance isn't an issue then all three are not difficult to drive. The MTM's give you a bit more dynamics because the two woofers have about 8" of combined surface area. Some small differences in tonality but you may like one cone material better than another. The main difference is the vertical coverage. MTM's tend to have more direct sound reaching you versus the amount of reverberant / room sound.
