Hi all. I have the prototype Tempest SL driving my green board Stratos Monos w/ cap upgrade. While I think it sounds very good, it does lack a certain sort of 'organic juicy goodness' w/ my Merlin TSM-MMe speakers. In other words, it sounds a bit sterile. Would the Candela give me a bit a bloom and warmth? I once compared the the Tempest SL to an Audio Research LS-16 tube pre and actually preferred the Tempest, but that was w/ my old speakers, which were not nearly as revealing as the Merlins.
Anyone done a direct comparison and made the switch? (as you probably know, SL is the version w/ the symphonic line board.....not the original Tempest)
