Sorry Robert. Didn't mean to hijack your thread.
I have a ProJect 2Xperience with an Ortofon 2M Black MM and I find the combination a bit too thin. Together they have extended highs but the music almost seems fragile. In addition, the turntable has a motor in a cradle with a rubber band that transfers motion to the plinth. This rubber band vibrates and previously I could not detect any affect on the sonics (I'm a newbie, so maybe it was my untrained pair of ears). Recently, I took off the face plates off of my B&W 804S and I was really surprised. Whenever the rubber band started vibrating, the two woofer diaphragms would vibrate with fairlygood (scary) excusrsions. If I stopped the band from vibrating by lightly touching it, woofers would be fine. Now I could hear the effect of the vibrations and I wonder if the music seems fragile because the woofers cannot function properly driven wild by the ramble of the rubber.
So .... long story to say that without a subsonic filter, I would not recommend the ProJect turntables that have the same set-up as the 2Xperience (the majority of them).
The Oracle appears divine! Happy birthday.
