The family and I have been gone for just over a week with no communication to the outside world. In a way, it's relaxing, yet slightly unnerving at the same time.
The family and I spent about four days in a very secluded log cabin on 100 acres in North Carolina. No tourist sites, no neon signs, nobody....NOBODY around. Nothing but us, a small lake, and lots of trees.
Next, we spent about four days in South Carolina (in the swamp) at a beach resort condo thingy. People everywhere, but still pretty slim as far as tourist things are concerned. Really not much in the way of "neon, tourist" things. Out of about 420 pictures I took, here are a mere 22. These are my "first round draft picks" you could say. These are the best I could do as an novice photographer. A large percentage of the 400+ pictures I took look like garbage from a photographers standpoint. Fine for the Grandmothers to see their Grandchildren, but not good enough to submit as "quality photographs".
Basically, these are the photos I thought where neat and had decent photographic quality.
==Palm trees outside the condo

==Um......Don't want to know.........

==Pelicans in formation

=="Cave Boy" doing his best to stay out of the burning sun.
Note: Beer in hand while the wind is attempting to mangle my umbrella

==Beach bird things. Quite entertaining watching them scurry around the sand while running from waves coming in.

==Seagull

==Boat floating by the shore

==Seagull

==A sign at the condo reminding us humans that we're still within reach of Mother Nature.
I didn't have many questions after reading this sign.

==Looking left at the golf course from the back deck at the condo

==Moss from the trees

==Looking to the right at the golf course from the back deck at the condo

==Washed up on shore.
Coral I assume?

==An attempt at cool photography

==I could live here in a heartbeat given the chance.

== A look at a small slice of the 100 acres at the cabin

==Cabin kitchen

==Cabin sitting area

==Path behind the cabin up into the deep dark woods

==The fence on the path looking back at the lake
