Oh man, I was so excited to see our local orchestra (Lousivlle....hey....they're pretty good!)  is doing the "New World Symphony" this Thursday, but damnit, I have to work 2nd shift at the hospital (again)

I dunno, maybe you hardcore classical guys (I'm a lurker) dismiss this piece, but I think it's, well....pretty.  :)

Don't apologize for liking that symphony. I have played it numerous times and taught it hundreds. It is perfect in it's form. Dvorak taught us all a lesson in how to stick to the classical symphony formula and it is a beauty to boot. There is everything in it, every mood, beautiful melodies and excitment in every movement and best of all..........you can whistle or hum the tunes for the rest of your life. Enjoy!

9th is great and I grew up with it in the background constantly.  My younger sister even chose  a music from the Allegro section for her wedding.  I would also recommend his Stabat Mater but beware.  It's an emotional one that will leave you drenched.
