VPC-3 as HT bypass?

Will the VPC-3 act as a HT bypass?  I will then use the vpc for a single source 2.0 music via Squeeze box.

How should I wire the vpc to the AVR?

No, only PLC-1 (MK1 and MK2) has the HT bypass feature.
