Our component "Coupling Device" will enable you to realize all the performance that your cherished equipment is capable of producing. This gorgeous platform will not only allow you to attain the level of sound quality that you expected and were promised (and don't forget..paid for) from your equipment, but, will add substantially to its visual appearance.
It is constructed using a thick slab of solid Northeastern maple. After testing every conceivable material for use as the platform, we determined that maple was, without doubt and by far, the best choice available to both reject and control vibrations. Unlike other materials which are commonly used for stands, platforms and racks, maple is definitely the best choice of all the wood varieties. It is far sturdier than MDF, it will not ring like glass granite or synthetic materials and will absolutely not add any of its own resonant characteristics to the sound. Maple has the amazing natural ability to reject vibrations, whether airborne or transmitted through your stand, your rack or the floor itself. Maple, by the way, is considerably more expensive than any of the other materials that are used, but it is the best, end of story! The maple is custom finished in your choice of any of our rich wood stain colors or satin black acrylic [an optional extra]) and is then sealed and protected with coats of clear satin polyurethane. The unit is then fitted with heavy plated brass adjustable spiked "feet" which further isolate the platform from vibration and couple it to what ever surface it is placed upon. These adjustable spikes also provide the ability to make infinite adjustments for exact leveling of the platform and the component.
The dimensions of the component platform shown in this listing are 18 inches wide by 14 inches deep by 1 1/2 inches thick. Other sizes such as 20 x 16, 20 x 18 and 24 x 18 are available, but please keep in mind that any size or thickness can be produced for you.
