Hello all. I have recently started the whole process of remodeling my theater room and came upon the same old problem I had when I was building my speakers. If you saw my speakers I built then you know I painted them in silver and black. I wanted to go with a darker wood, like a cherry, and a lighter wood, like a birch. The problem was I don't know how you get the edges to look nice without showing unless the stuff is so thin it is like paper. Take for instance now, I am using a plywood as a decorative cover over some trim in my room that I have stained a beautiful red cherry color. The plywood is super thin but even that shows the edges. If I went and spent 100 bucks on some beautiful burl wood veneer for my next project how do I keep it looking beautiful when it gets to the edges? I have thought about using my router to make a 45 degree bevel on it, but given how thin it is to begin with I don't know if that will work. Please help me oh masterful cabinet builder gods.
