Ripping software
« on: 28 Jun 2009, 12:23 am »
I am currently working on setting up a server for my wav files and am having trouble deciding to go Mac or PC. I wll be connecting the computer to my B100sst DA/MM amp via an offramp.
From reading reviews about ripping software for the last week and I'm more confused than ever.

I would rather use my Macbook because of the remote and external blue tooth keyboard and mouse so  i want need to use any USB devices but the offramp. I also like the Itunes interface. I want to rip WAV files but hear Itunes does not do as good of a job as EAC and it seems to be kind of silly to pay 1400.00 for Amarra playback software when the PC software is free.

I guess my question is does Itunes come close to ripping wav files as good as EAC and does having the Amarra software help the ripping process or is it simply playback software.

For the Mac you can use Max. You'll want to RIP to AIFF.
