You certainly don't see many of these, inasmuch as the photo shows some other transistor being used that we did not specify.  That old upgrade used a Hitachi 2SK135 TO-3 case mos-fet power transistor as the series regulator.  This e-bay item is showing some kind of a plastic T0-220 device, what it is who knows.
