Regarding the "old one", a VA Systems Model Two amp from the early 1970s, a prospective buyer should be aware that there are no service parts available for this unit so we can no longer maintain or repair them.  If it works fine, great, but if not, it is a boat anchor.

Regarding the "new one", a Transcendence Eight vacuum tube preamp with remote control, this looks just fine - - -  BUT - - - I could not find a record of selling one to anyone in the San Francisco area in or near the time frame mentioned, August, 2008.  Thus it is possible this would be a third hand unit now and thus the original AVA factory warranty would not transfer further.  I can be more helpful if I knew the seller's name.

I can't help with the Seller's name, but Seller states he ordered it in October 2008, and the Serial Number is 110508c. Does that help at all?

Sure seems like one hell of a deal on a great preamp!  :thumb:

Have fun,

Well that helped with the newer one.  I can trace it to a unit shipped in November, 2008, not October as mentioned in the adv.

It should be a legitimate first owner unit.

Well someone got a major deal in that T8. Lucky!!! I was out getting lunch and remembered when I got back, 15 minutes after it ended at $810.00. Oh well I love my T8 ver.1, and my credit card is better off not buying it and shipping it to Frank for a phonostage or worst some stand alone ChuChing tube phonostage. As Dirty Harry once said, "A good man has to know his limitations."  8)

If your reading this as the winner all I can say is Congradulations and Welcome. :thumb:
