Impressions of my new 7bsst2
« on: 7 Mar 2009, 04:23 pm »
I am somewhat new to this site, but have been reading daily in anticipation in hope of one day getting the new Bryston 7bsst2 and well that day has come. I have owned Bryston amps and preamps in years past, and just recently ungraded from my old trusty Rotel RB-1090 to the new 7bsst2. What a difference it has been the last week, I thought the Rotel was a fine amp for the money. The 7b just brings so much more information, detail, soundstage and most of all good solid bass to my old Mirage M1si speakers. I had to sell my VPI Scout turntable, Rotel 1090 and allot of cash to finance the 7bsst2, but has been well worth the gamble. They are keepers, well done Bryston!!!!!

Hi Bud,

Welcome to the site sir and thank you for your kind comments about the 7B SQ. By the way I just got a copy of a new review on the 7B SST SQ which should be posted soon and I will provide a link for you. Lets just say you and the reviewer agree!

Anyone have any gut shots on the new 7b sst2?

6 moons has a nice one of the 28's in the Potis review.

James, can you tell us where and when that review will be posted?

April is along way off, especially where I live, northern Saskatchewan. Any possible way of getting a sneak peak of the review for a new 7bsst2 owner?

... Like the warning reads:- this topic has not been posted in for at least 30 days.... I'm just wondering why this thread has run dry. I'm keenly watching news / reviews / impressions on these m/blocks, and it does not seem as though any new info is coming along ... anyone having any regrets?

Plse post, guys!

I've got a pair of B&W 802 D's which I thought perhaps the 7bsst2's may be perfect for ...

I stated my impressions of my new 7BSSTsq in the 7BSST review post, the better place would have been here.

I would suggest that the neutrality and bass control of the 7Bsq would be an excllent choice for the 802's.

Thanks, gtaphile. I've read your review. What I meant was that I'd have thougth that MORE new 7bsst2 owners would've added their own comments to yours by now, and that I was (since I'm in the market) eagerly awaiting more responses ...

I can get a pair of 2nd hand ML33H's for about the same price as a pair of 7bsst2's. Can anyone that have heard both comment on that?

gtaphile, congrats on your new 7BSQ.  I thought you had a 6B instead of the 7B.

Thanks Levi - I sold the 6B and upgraded to the 7.

Thanks for the clarification. Now I need to find someone who upgraded from 7B to 7Bsq.
