Paul Galbraith?

Is anyone a fan of Paul Galbraith?
I have only one of his recordings -- Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for Unaccompanied Violin. The twist is that Paul Galbraith plays a custom 8 string guitar.

I think it is a nice variation on the Bach pieces -- a companion to the version I have by Itzhak Perlman.

Galbraith is excellent (but Perlman is not). Keep the Galbraith and dump Perlman! Either Grumiaux or Podger will serve you MUCH better on violin

Tyson, thanks for the tip on Perlman. I was dissapointed with his version but I assumed (incorrectly, it seems) that it was the instrument and not the interpretation.

Hi David,
Galbraith's disc of Haydn sonatas is also very good. All of his CDs are nice, but I wish he'd keep the heavy breathing to a minimum...
I saw him this year in concert. Well performed and a nice program.
Regards,
John
