Dual secondary dual bridge p/s

My apologizes beforehand if this has already been thrashed out (I searched but did not find mention of it)
Has anyone here tried a dual secondary, dual bridge p/s? I am opening my 55W Nirvana this weekend to do some work on it and have the a spare p/s pcb and rectifiers. Since the transformers have dual secondaries why not use them rather than waste one side? I will have to find space inside the chassis but that should'nt be too difficult.

While I usually would do it from the get go, somehow I don't remember doing it with the original build, don't think I had enough rectifiers at the time or some other feeble excuse.

So did anyone try it and hear a difference?

HI Andrew,

Always nice to see you here!  How's the Caymans?  Tourism starting to improve?

I have some recollection of trying two separate rectifier bridges for each module, rather than just the one as at present.  There was no improvement;  nix, nothing, zilch.  You do actually use both secondary windings on your trafo;  the start of one is connected to the finish of the other to form the center tap, with the outers going to the AC1 and AC2 connections on the rectifier bridge.

Let me know if you need more information...

Cheers,

Hugh

Crickey I made a mess of that one!
At least you knew what I was getting at these non-technical types don't have a clue.
Anyway you say no difference so I will not bother,  am putting in the S.M caps though.
