This speaker has been one of the best speakers I've ever owned, knocking out my Gallo Ref 3.1s, Von Schweikert VR4-JRs, Maggie 3.6s, and a host of others that have come through my door. Digital Phase is a small speaker company in business over 20 years in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Using their patented 'acousta-reed' technology, they are able to get incredible and musical bass out of using their unique porting system. The only drivers the speaker uses are their titanium tweeters and four 6.5" (16.5 cm) carbon fiber impregnated polypropylene woofers. The result is a speaker that is incredibly ruler flat (+ or - 1.5db) from 35 hz to 20 KHZ. These are extremely musical speakers and the best kept secret in all of audio in my opinion. Measurements are 50"h x 17.75"d x 16"w (127 x 45 x 41cm). 120 lbs (54.4 kg) each. I have the original boxes for shipping but due to the size would prefer local pickup. As to the 'type' of sound; I would say these are extremely accurate and true to the musical source. The AP-4s have incredibly powerful bass and also have an electrostatic like quickness. These are finished in furniture grade black ash and in near mint condition (I hesitate to call any speaker system 'mint' that has come out of the box).

Additionally, I should add these are not the stock AP-4s. They have been factory upgraded with higher quality cabling and had the bi-wire capabilities and tweeter switch removed to provide the purest sound. In fact, they are closer to their flagship model EP-4 ($32,000) as a result. Feel free to email me if you have any questions or want to arrange an audition. Also, you should call the company as they are very willing to discuss their designs even if they don't advertise effectively.

I also have the matching AP .7 center channel (also in black) which is an excellent compliment if you are running a dual system or home theater. This center channel also has the same razor flat frequency response (35hz-20khz) and is the best center channel (by far) I've ever heard. You'd think you have 3 AP-4s across the front.

$1799 plus shipping.

The asking price includes all three speakers for an incredible front soundstage.

May have missed it but where are you located? That is a great price. I've had a pair of stock AP-1's for the last 12 years and they remain among the most musical of the 8+ pairs of high-end speakers I have in the house.
