I finished my six DIY panels last night.  I ordered six yards of burlap and ATS sent at least eight.  My upholstery skills need some work but I like the way they turned out.  I have them sitting on the floor until I find the optimum positions, then I will hang them on the walls.  My final costs were right around $25 per panel.

I listened to a number of LPs last night and the panels definitely tightened up the bass while bringing the soundstage into sharper focus.  I?ll play with them more tonight to determine how placement effects the sound to see I can do any better.

That's a nice looking "small-room" system.  I also have full-range speakers in a small room.  In my room, the addition of more panels and thicker panels improved the sound.

Your upholstery skills aren't half-bad; better than my skills, I guarantee (I didn't even try and bought the pre-sewn bags).

Agreed- you did a fine job upholstering them. :thumb:  A small room, indeed, but near-field listening can work very, very well.

Thanks for the comments.  The room is only 11'10" x 10'10".  My speakers and listening position are in a 5'11" equilateral triangle.  The sound is fantastic.  I think the Paradigm Reference Studio 100's are perfect for near-field listening - they are essentially a pair of Studio 20 monitors (a great monitor) sitting atop 3 woofers a side that add a real nice bottom-end punch.
