S-1 and W-1

Can these be bought as a package at a discount to what they would cost separately? I have the Icon already and I'd like to jump on the S1 & W1 bandwagon.

Nearly all of our customers buy S-1 (W-1 is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED to transform the system, you won't believe it) so we have been discounting Icon, S-1 and W-1 by 10% on our online store already.

There products are really good with low margin, no further bundle discount. You won't find any desktop system sounding better than the Icon system below $1K price.

I pulled the trigger on a silver/blue pair of S-1s; I can't wait to listen to them. With my setup now, they'd be placed right up against the wall in a tiny room, so we'll see and hear how that goes I suppose. I'm not a bass addict by any means, but I will strongly consider the W-1 when the budget allows.

I'm absolutely lovin' my Icon.

I'm with Jason on the sub -- the S-1 speakers will really sound incredible with something else picking up the bass, but without a sub, the S-1s are fairly helpless under 100 Hz. My Icon and S-1 are sitting in their shipping box until my sub arrives. I had them out to listen to them extensively as I was writing the review for Techgage, and I was thrilled with their clarity, but the lack of bass has kept me listening to my Cambridge Soundworks MicroWorks II a little longer. (BTW, I'm convinced you can't do better than the MWII for under $150.)

You may or may not decide to use the NuForce sub - any* sub will work with the S-1 as long as you provide the right cables and integrate it well into the room and the system. Personally, I'm looking for something that can move a bit more air, so I'm going to try the 180-watt Velodyne Impact-Mini (since I love the MiniVee that I've got in the living room). The Impact-Mini arrives this week, and a full report will follow.

*The quantity and quality of bass from the sub will depend on the subwoofer's quality. "Work" in this case means you can send signal to it and cause it to make sound.

My S-1s just arrived.

Wow! These are awesome. The sound is so seamless. I can't wait to hear these after they've had time to break-in.

The build quality is great too. I was shocked at how heavy and solid they feel. Plus they look very Avant-garde, which is cool IMO.

I just received my W-1 today... I couldn't resist buying one after I got my S-1s.  :D

This little setup is just phenomenal considering the cost, build quality and, most importantly, the sound. It's probably already been said, but I think this setup would make a great bedroom system so long as the room isn't cavernous.
