Hoping you guys can help. I recently acquired the D200's to power my mains while using my Arcam AVR300 as the preamplifier. I hooked up the amps using the L and R pre outs of the receiver, and my bass is cut in about half from the Arcam. This makes no sense to me at all as the Arcam is only rated 100WPC. I have gone through every receiver setting that I can think of. I run my mains full range for 2 channel and when I hook the speakers back into the Arcam amps, BOOM, my bass is back. No other settings have changed. The funny thing is outside of the Bass, the new amps sound INCREDIBLE. More spacing, more detail....Great, but I cannot handle the loss of bass.
The D200's are connected with Tributaries interconnects into the D200's using Dusty's XLR to RCA converter as the D200's have the balanced connection but I don't think that would matter.
Is this a problem with my Arcam as a Pre Amp? Is it possible it powers it's internal 100 watt amps better than an amp twice as powerful? Makes no sense.
Thanks for any help guys. I really want to keep these.
