This Van Alstine Fetvalve 550 Revision 5 is rated at 250wpc into 8 ohms. It sounds and looks excellent. There are Mullards in there now but I have the original tubes also.   I figure anybody looking knows what they look like.  This is a super deal for this amp. First 900.00. Shipping from 97233 at about 42lbs. An easy 8 on the Audiogon scale. There is an ad now on Audiogon with Pictures also.  Thank You

I sent Frank an email to ask if he can double this one.  Is it an Ultra?  If this is capable of doubling, I'll take it.  Can you send me some photos if it is not the same as on his website?

The Double 550 upgrade is also available for older version of the Fet Valve 550 amplifiers, including major power supply and circuit upgrades.  We will quote these prices on an individual basis depending upon the current status of the amplifier in question.

The cost to upgrade the 550EXR to an Ultra 550 is $699.00. I'm sure you can ask Frank if, while he's there doing the upgrade to Ultra, he could do the Double treatment at the same time and save you a few bucks. 

Even at full list, you'd be at Ultra Double 550 for a great, great price. It leaves more than enough left over for some NOS Telefunkens!
