Most tube sellers would call this a matched quad.  I can't stretch things *quite* that far.  What we have is two matched pairs of NOS Mullard-manufactured, RCA-branded Xf2 single halo EL34's.  The BEST way to really match tubes is to bias them up in a typical amplifier.  When checking these tubes against my reference NOS Mullard EL34, the pair on the right biased EXACTLY at 50 mA per tube when hit with the same bias Voltage as the reference tube.  The pair on the right delivered 47.8 mA with the same bias Voltage.  Now I don't know about you, but *I* would have to call them "two matched pairs" rather than a "Matched Quad."  If you are re-tubing a Stereo amplifier, two matched pairs will work FINE!  (*I* wouldn't be concerned running them in an application that requires a "matched quad" either, but I believe in telling the "straight story"!)

I will be willing to sell these as separate "pairs" of tubes, but I would *prefer* selling them to someone who needs two pairs.  Here's the pricing:

     1 pair:     $250.00
     2 pairs:    $450.00

This is just a little "incentive" to try to keep these tubes together.  These are really BEAUTIFUL tubes that sound absolutely fantastic.  They are unused (except for testing purposes) and truly deliver that "Magic Mid-Range" Mullards are so famous for.  Don't pay up to $800.00 for a quad of these tubes from one of the major tube sellers.  I stand behind all tubes with a 90 day guarantee (as long as you don't obviously abuse them).  You won't have many more chances to find tubes of this quality at truly "reasonable" prices.

E-mail me at nostubesforyourdynaco@gmail.com and I'll start the wheels in motion.  Free shipping via USPS Priority Mail is included for residents of the US.  Foreign buyers must pay all shipping costs.

Thanks for reading this ad.  I hope I can be of service to you.

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

Don't forget, if you need a couple of matched pairs of superb tubes for your EL34-based amplifier, these are some of the finer tubes available.  These are two VERY closely matched pairs; *almost* close enough to call a matched-quad.

Let me know if I can be of service to you.

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

After you "burn-in" your amplifier project with the Electro-Harmonix EL34EH tubes, THEN put *this* quad in and see the difference a couple of matched pairs of MULLARD'S can make!  These are OUTSTANDING tubes.  Your amplifier AND your EARS deserve them.

Just e-mail me at nostubesforyourdynaco@gmail.com and I'll take care of the rest.  Thanks for reading this ad.  I hope I can be of service to you.

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

Hello fellow audio folks!

The gentleman who purchased these tubes has informed me that the EL34 amplifiers he purchased these tubes for are simply not a good match for his speakers.  He evaluated one pair of these tubes for a total of 30 minutes and did not install the second pair.  He is selling the EL34 amplifiers and has asked me if he could return these tubes.  Of course, I am only too happy to take them back.

But this means you have a truly GOLDEN opportunity!  The original sale price on these two matched pairs of Mullard-manufactured EL34's was $450.00.  It would be unethical for me to re-sell the tubes he auditioned as "completely unused" so I am offering them once again at a reduced price.  Since one pair is now "30 minutes away from completely unused", I am reducing the price for the two matched pairs to only $375.00!

Be advised that the tubes are not yet back in my possession, but I expect them to be returned within the coming week.  I will re-test them to make certain all is well with them, but I wanted to let you know of this GREAT opportunity to save a BUNDLE on some truly wonderful EL34's!

Thanks for re-visiting this ad.  As always, you can e-mail me at nostubesforyourdynaco@gmail.com for more information or to discuss purchasing them.

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

Folks,

That gentleman (and I use the term loosely :-) ) is me, and the 30 minutes is very, very conservative and in real life it was probably half that amount of time that these were in one of my el34 amps.

I simply didn't find the sound I was looking for with the el34s and the Fonkensteens, so all el34 amps are to be sold.  I'll probably keep the Yarland around for backup purposes as it at least drives the 'Steens fairly well.

These tubes are beauties and at Bill's asking price, a steal -- probably about half or less than you'd pay from most anybody else.

I'm running 10 xf4's in my golden tube se-100 amp. Are xf-2's worth the extra $$?

My opinion is that any differences would be EXTREMELY slight.  I would certainly not recommend spending a huge sum to replace TEN Xf4's with ten Xf2's unless you were "disgustingly wealthy" and didn't feel "comfortable" unless you spent a few tens of thousands of Dollars a day.  (lol)

Thanks for your honesty. These mullards are the best sounding I've found and your price is good. I highly recommend these for anyone running el34's. Mine are even sounding better than ever after I put a silicone tube damper on each one of them. Smoother, silkier, more airy and tighter bass. Well worth the $12 I spent on the dampers.

Thank YOU for the kind words.  My goal is to help provide high quality tubes for those who NEED them, but it would be less than honest for me to suggest that you will hear a big difference between Xf2's and Xf4's.  *I* can't hear a huge difference, so why should I suggest that YOU just *might*?  Doesn't make sense to ME!

Now, if you were running Chinese or Russian EL34's, there would be no contest.  True Mullard-manufactured  EL34's of ANY vintage will put those "wannabes" to shame - NO doubt about it.

By the way, these two pairs are still available.  The price of $375.00 is a genuine bargain for anyone looking for truly BEAUTIFUL sound from an EL34-based amplifier.  Just let me know if I can be of service at nostubesforyourdynaco@gmail.com.  Thanks for viewing this ad.

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

Well, it was bound to happen!

SOMEONE would *finally* decide to get a "steal of a deal."  Sale on these two VERY closely matched pairs of Mullard (Blackburn) EL34's is now pending.  That means YOU didn't decide to purchase them in time - someone ELSE will get the tubes you were *thinking* about buying.  "He who hesitates...."

Seriously, I *will* be offering other NOS matched pairs of Mullard EL34's.  They *won't* be selling for this low price.

Perhaps you might be more interested in Mullard GZ34/5AR4's!  Watch for an ad VERY soon!

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

Hi, Randy,

Sorry, I don't have any GZ32's.  My area of specialization is Dynaco equipment, therefore; I really only have stock of tubes used in Dynaco gear.  They never used a 5R4/GZ32 in their equipment, so I didn't attempt to stock any.  Sorry.

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

Unfortunately, due to our current economic conditions, the sale of these BEAUTIFUL tubes did not go through.  While that is unfortunate for ME, it's another GREAT opportunity for YOU!  Yep!  They are available again!

E-mail me at nostubesforyourdynaco@gmail.com and these beautiful tubes can be YOUR beautiful tubes!

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas
