Hello friends!

For a second hand pair of monoblocks.

Same money. Same Cost.

Shall I choose to buy a pair of ref 8.5v2 or a pair of Ref 9  (v1)

After purchase I will not afford an uppgrade for many years cause im a student....

I have a high resolution setup with a roksan cd-drive To a BENCHMARK DAC1 then Nuforce P8. The speakers are IS6 pro mk2 (swedish brand Intelligent Sound) which is a VERY high resolution monitor that likes a powerfull amp.

I like the High-res sound and a wide soundstage.

I know my speakers likes a powerfull amp and Intelligent Sound speakers are VERY revealing.

IS6 have 106dB.....
IMHO..go for 8.5 V2
The 9 can be too much "surgical" in your setup..

Can you motivate why?

i think id need all the power i could get (?)

And then, in the future, i could uppgrade to v2.

i  mean, dont ref9 v1 sound better than 8.5v2??

If  you can not upgrade the 9s get the 8.5 v2 much better amp over all  and v2 have far less pops and clicks  and better sound  Enjoy

Also consider the Stereo 8.5V2, it has a mini SE cap board.

I would definitely go V2.  I've had 9.0, 9.02 and 9SE V2.  The V1 Nuforce have RFI problems that the V2 don't.
