How hard is it to make a hole?

Anyone else noticing new vinyl with incompletely cut holes, leftover flash, etc.
Makes it hard to get the record on the spindle!

I don't remember this being a problem back in the 70's and 80's...

Once in a while a misaligned label that needs a little pushing through but no real problems for me.

Never have this problem with any I get from thrift shops or estate sales, even when still sealed.

I've only had this issue on new records, recent YepRoc release of Robyn Hitchcock, a hole so tight I could barely get it on my Linn. Then, Merriweather Post Pavilion from Animal Collective had a bunch of flash still hanging out of the hole. And a couple of other new releases bordered on snug.

I thought maybe there was a pattern. I've had the turntable for over 30 years and never remembered it being an issue "back in the day." But heck, there's a lot of stuff I can't remember from back then...lol
