HELP! TEAC PX-300 or PX-500 Turntables
« on: 11 Feb 2009, 10:43 pm »
          Helllo All,

Anyone familiar with the TEAC PX-300 or PX-500 Direct Drive Turntables from 1975-1977?? I was wondering if anyone had any information on them, and how they compared to the Technics, Denon, Pioneer of that era??  I have one that I will be getting back soon, but haven't seen it in so long.  The Table has an S shaped Tonearm.  I was wondering if the Arm was decent or not, etc....  Anything, or anyway someone can be of help, Id appreciate it.  Thanks, Ray

Great album (Pink F.)

Didn't even know Teac built tables. I'd suspect they would be descent. Probably didn't make the arm. May not have built much (sourced platter from other manufacturers) as I think there was lots of "sharing" done back then. Others will chime in.

Thank You for the response.  Yes, TEAC actually made a few over the years.  One used a Technology used or called MAGNEPLANAR  or something.  Was supposed to be pretty high tech.

Yes....Pink Floyd....my favorite band.  And The Final Cut....a very underrated Album...the sonics are incredible on this LP.....as is with most Floyd, or even Roger Waters Solo material..

                                        Thanks, Ray
