Some one has yet compare in audition the Benchmark DAC1 pre or USB with the promi NOS DAC plus TVC, between a PC or a CD transport and the amplifier?
I think both are very good systems, but with opposite "philosophies": Benchmark tray to "improve" the sound with many bits ant Hz (24/192), and Nicholas tray to "not disturbe" the sound. Benchmark is a "professional oriented" company, and Promitheus is clearly "audiophile oriented".
I'm more in the Nicholas side, but I'd like to hear both in the same conditions.
My "conditions" are (provisionally): source 80% hard discs managed with mediacenter, 20% Cd Luxman 105u as transport, power ampli Amber and speakers custom made, small; monster cables, etc. (I'm waiting for the NOS DAC and cables from Nicholas).
