No way Wayner - that almost a normal day for me! 

I work from home, start my workday at 6AM and my listening room is my office.  I tend to like the first 2 hours silent to fully concentrate on the days events, but by about 8-9AM (I sometimes will have the system idling so it's warm upon use) will start playing tunes.  It generally starts with FM, but sometimes with vinyl (less frequently, CD).

When the vinyl goes on it's often so nice it's distracting, so I actually try to not play it until later in the AM.

When I do, I sure do appreciate fully auto everything as if I get absorbed in something I can play a side a couple times lazily not doing anything and just pounding out emails, spreadsheets and talking on the phone.

Grapefruit juice or (warm) white tea with lemon my normal beverage of choice in the morn.

Sorry I missed your response earlier...

Yup, I have two fully auto tables now...the JVC QL-F6 and QL-Y66F.  The Y66F even shuts off - to save the motor wear and tear.

Niiiice....plays fabulously, too.  I still cannot get the huge soundstage of the better belt drives with it (perhaps the influence of a motor situated right under the platter/record has too much influence on the sound...both transmitted mechanical energy and EMI....to allow for anything but the pricies mass-loaded DD units to have huge soundstages)

My vinyl starts spinning at about 4:00 AM on weekdays.  That's when I hear my upstairs neighbors (I live in an apartment building) running the shower and getting their day started.  I really enjoy having a couple hours in the morning to relax with music, a coffee and chicory blend, and a good book (or reading some interesting posts on a forum) before needing to get ready and head off to work.

I do the AM thing but at the other end of AM like 1,2,3 and with single malts not coffee.

I usually finish off the day with a LP or start the day however you want to look at it a,s I get home around 12:30am from work check email , audio circle ect then  2am 2:30 I will dig out the final album before i go to bed. Everything off nice and quite good time to listen. No single malt or wine as if i start at that time i would still be listing a 7am and that would be a bad thing to try to explain

Sunday morning = Classical on the TT, coffee, pancakes, bacon, eggs, orange juice.  After lunch the tunes have changed to R&R on the transport, if I am doing something that might get in the way of flipping the vinyl.  And by evening I'm usually listening to Blues and/or Jazz with a cocktail.

I only find it strange that everyone does not feed their soul, while taking a day of rest.

Nothing wrong with that at all.  I'm jealous.

Why is it that your system always sounds the best when you are listening at 10 PM all by yourself with no one to share it with?  "Hey guys!  My system sounds killer!  Anyone out there?  You should hear this!!"

I feed my soul in the mornings of weekends on the links.  I get cranky if I don't get my rounds in.  I tell my wife that it's for her and my daughter that I play golf so that I can present the better side of me to the family.  By getting off at the first tee time, I am usually done early enough to join the family for brunch after my daughter's Sunday School. 

Spinning vinyl usually happens after my daughter goes to sleep but recently we have been spending more time in the music room as she was given a Disco lighting set with a rotating mirror ball for Christmas.  Yes, my man-cave has become a Discotheque.    I have been dancing with my daughter with strobe lights while spinning the soundtracks from Saturday Night Fever and Donna Summer's On the Radio albums.    Barry Gibb's falsetto comes through just fine on a fancy audiophile system.

barry gibbs?!?  yikes!  i think i would rather listen to that on a single-speaker portable.  ouch!

rim, how does the discotheque ball compare to the art acoustical resonators?  enquiring minds wanna know!

By afternoon it is Jazz (when I get a chance to listen in that time slot) and classical almost every evening.  Phillipe Entremont is doing the honors on piano right now - good Grieg!
