Bugle 'pop' on turn-on

Besides my Cornet 2, I have an older Bugle pre. The Bugle makes a loud pop when turned on. Is there some obvious thing causing this? (Normally I keep volume down but it is annoying.)
Otherwise, a great unit.

Mine pops as well. It's best to turn the Bugle on FIRST. Then, no pops!!

Yeah, it is normal. I didn't want to add the extra cost of an output muting circuit.
