I did notice this but for the same price I can get the Bose Companion 2 Series II speakers but are those speakers going to sound better than the AV-20? Is the Bose speakers built better or the AV-20 I have now is better?

I just noticed that alot of people get bose and it's a popular brand name so I thought maybe they are built well and sound good too.

A lot of people eat fast food, it's very popular but... it's no good.  Whether or not the Bose Companion 2 Series II is right for you, will only depend on whether or not you like them more than what you chose.

The Philips MMS321/17 is another speaker that is popular too and they say it sounds really good for the price. I seen alot of good reviews on these too. There are some people that say that these are soo flat response they even use them for home studio recording. I don't know if these are better but basicaly the Bose Companion 2 Series II and the Philips MMS321/17 are saying they are great speakers.

There is one thing that I noticed that other speakers don't have is the protection features. The AV-20 has alot of features so you don't damage the speakers. Basicaly all of M-Audio monitors has these features. Even my AV-20 has them. Plus it doesn't say this but it has a fuse to protect the speakers too. You can change the fuse if it goes out. All M-Audio monitors has the fuse. You don't have to open the back cover on the higher end ones since it's external fuse. But all have the same protection features.

I did get the M-Audio AV-40 instead and they have alot more power and bass. But the quality sounds really alike to the AV-20. Maybe the highs sounds more realistic on the AV-40 since it has a silk dome tweeter instead of Myler dome tweeters. Basicaly there wasn't much difference on class a/b or class d but I did notice that class a/b gets warmer on the back of the speakers. I did have to save up to get the AV-40 instead of the AV-20 since AV-40 costed $150 pair and the AV-20 costed $80 pair. I guess the AV-40 is a better speaker in a way since it has more power and bass. Well of cource it does since it's a 4in woofer instead of a 2in woofer.

Not all speakers are 'better' because of more bass and power. I could show you plenty of speakers with a bigger woofer cone that would sound way worse than speakers with a smaller woofer cone.
