BUMP for good deal @ $1,250/pair through end of year...

My 6 Monitors recently arrived. Finished in Cherry front/back and Wenge sides. Louis is making a DeepHemp in all Wenge as well. My wife even likes the way they look (...a first for any speaker I've owned!).

In a boutique stereo shop, IMHO this speaker could easily pass for $3,500 or more (both on looks and sound).

Hi Kent,

my wife is happy as well (for the first time ever  ) for how the Alnico 8" Monitors (former SuperHemp Alnicos) looks in wenge finish.

I'm also thinking of DeepHemp upgrade. Also waiting brass screws from Lou  .

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check out SALK.

Wenge is darker (lots of black running through it), simple straight grained, and little more from the green family (compared to Cherry coming from a warmer red tone).

Personally I love the two tones of wood on the same cabinet. They look like very expensive speakers.

Note: See first photo in this thread for a partial side shot. Color in picture below is closer to the real thing.

I used the word Green in previous post. Darkened bronze or Deep Olive is where I was headed with that. Here's link to more on Wenge. Here it is described as black & brown... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wenge
