Up for sale: The amazing Gallo Reference 3 speakers (http://www.roundsound.com/reference-speakers.htm). These are the second generation Ref3 with black bases and lacking the tweeter switch, not the current 3.1 model. I am the original owner and they are about 3 years old and well broken in. They are in great shape with some minor marks from some stray furniture polish. The grills are in great shape, no snags and only a little bit of fading. I removed them and gave the fabric a good cleaning since I live with a cat. Luckily, he prefers to use his claws on the turkish rugs, not the speakers.

This is one truly amazing speaker that absolutely disappears in a room leaving only music. There are two sets of speaker terminals, one for your regular amp and a second for a bass amp if you want to push the bass down to 25 Hz rather than the 40 Hz without the bass amp. These speakers like high watt or high current amps to get the best out of them. I was using a 150 W amp, but 400 W wouldn't be crazy and Gallo demos with high watt Spectron amps. They also work great with smaller amps, like the Red Wine signature series that can put out a lot of current, but only 30 W. Many roads to nirvana.

I have the 3.1 model, so I'm not in the market for these, but I'd like to confirm the Gallos are super speakers, and this looks like a good price.
