The UPS Man delivered my modded Transporter (Bybees + Turbo Upgrade) this afternoon and of course I am on the road in a motel room.  I cannot wait to get back home late tomorrow and connect it back into the system (it has been gone 22 days - it is a slow truck ride to the West Coast and back).

Ted, Phil and David, you guys have had your modded units for nearly a month now.  Was there any break-in associated with the upgrade(s) and if so what has been your experience?

Thanks,

Ken

The break-in is about 50 hours or so, in my opinion.  It's abbreviated cuz Dan runs them for quite awhile in Amboy too.

Hi Ken - doesn't that always happen, you're stuck in a motel and the new gear arrives!  I normally get 'what's this you've ordered, I thought you'd told me that you were done spending on hifi'.
To be honest I plugged in my TP after the mod and enjoyed it so much I didn't really listen specifically for any burn-in.

Yep, that is exactly what she asked when she called to tell me a box was left by UPS on the front porch.  I guess I am glad to hear I don't have the only wife that is not crazy about the audio neverosa!

But at least you can truthfully say it's something you already own this time :green:

Ken, glad you are enjoying it. It is quite remarkable just how good the upgrade is. I have a feeling you now agree

i like to add,i have the pleasure to listening transporter as a DAC using Arcam 74t >>>>transporter >>>>T8 >>>>D.A.C. 4800 digital amp>>omega grand 8.i also have AVA ultra DAC to compare with.I'm listen to the same CD  Alison Krauss and Megadeth 3 times on the first 2 track.this is my temporary set up until my other set arrive next week. The transporter sound more live.the guitar ,piano, the drum and bass sound like live sound even my friend play bass in a band said the same thing. The AVA sound mellow ,more mid ,the drum not as lively ,so far i like the transporter more but i haven't make the decision yet until i have my main system set up.the transporter had power upgrade with stock tube that came with.Tube rolling start next couple weeks.

I am jumping on this bandwagon and wish to extend kudos to Dan W. and Company.  Fantastic job on the platinum level upgrade!

I received my Hyper-drive with Bybees upgraded power supply MWI TP back late Friday and ran it through most of the weekend to break it in.  I had a few hours listening time Sunday evening and it is nothing short of a phenomenal improvement.   aa   Imho, the sonic improvement level of upgrade is at least the same level of increase as the initial modified MWI TP was over my MWI Denon 3910 CDP.  The Hyper-Drive with Bybees upgrade is a no brain-er and I would speculate solidifies the new 'Platinum Level' ModWright Transporter as the state of the art in digital music reproduction.

And, this is still driving with oem stock tubes...with a little of Lloyd Walkers SST silver contact enhancement on the tube pins.  I have a set of RCA Cleartops and a Mullard GZ34 on the way to sample hopefuly this weekend and expect another level of improvement.

Great job ModWright!!!
