mediamonkey vs. foobar

Has anyone compared the sound output of these two interfaces?

MediaMonkey is much more user friendly and convenient. There is an ASIO plugin for it that can upsample.

Thanks,
Danny

I find Foobar 8.3  with SRC far more to my liking, sound wise, (even though in some ways it is a PITA). I think QuuxPlayer has more of the features of MediaMonkey with sound equal to or better than Foobar

I agree that the SRC upsampler in 0.83 is the best I've heard.

Paul,
Does Quux Player have an upsampler capability, or are you saying it sounds better period (even vs Foobar/SRC at 24/96)?

To my knowledge it does not have up sampling capability. It has a much better sound than MediaMonkey, IMHO. Of the many, many players I have tried, it and Foobar are the best sounding. I have the pro version but that's only because I have around 2,200 CDs on my hard drive and the standard version will only handle 1,000 as I recall. I detect no sonic difference between the standard and pro versions. By all means download it and listen for yourself -- its free!  :thumb:
