Rythmik Audio FG12 vs. Force XL
« on: 19 Nov 2008, 08:47 am »
I just posted this in the wrong circle.   So, my question still is:  OK, the Rythmik a is servo sub with a 12 inch driver, while the ACI Force XL uses a 10 inch cone.  They are of a similar price point.  Has any one compared these two subs?  If so, I would appreciate hearing your opinion.  I listen almost exclusively to Classical orchestral music.

No I haven't tried the Rythmic. But I do love my Force XL. I did compare it to some other compact subs from REL, Velo etc. All quite a bit more money and chose the Force XL.  It is a very musical sub!  I noticed they had some very good B-stock pricing

I've never heard the ACI Force XL but built a few Rymik subs.  I'm VERY happy with them...I think you will find it difficult for anything to compete with them regardless of price.  Take a look at mine here: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=60729.0

I listen to mostly classical also, so I intend to build Rhythmik OB wth GR Research paper cones. 2 or 3 per side. OB will minimize acoustic problems in bass freqs. I do wonder how detailed the Rhythmik amp is.

My friend had a single ACI sub supporting Piega C8, it was excellent synergy with that very fast speaker. I don't know how much detail was missing because I was not familiar with the music played. ACI has infinite phase control which really helps. I adjusted that a little and found a big improvement. Now he has two ACI Titans so I wanna go hear them and help him dial them in all the way.
