list:  $4000;  asking:  $1900

Cain and Cain Walla Walla Wall of Sound speaker pair designed by Gordon Rankin of Wavelength Audio and built by Terry Cain. This is one of the final pair of speakers crafted by Terry Cain himself prior to his passing.

These speakers were initially made by Terry to swap with Don Garber of Fi for an amplifier. When Terry's illness became more severe he decided to sell them rather than trade with Mr. Garber.

The speakers use the limited edition Fostex 166ESR full-range drivers. They are finished in maple with a walnut trim ring and base. The 166ESR was $500/pr when available I believe. A Fostex grill is included to protect the drivers.

The speaker is designed to be placed flush against a wall. They are @ 96db efficient and an 8 ohm load. The speaker provides bass to 40hz and creates a HUGE soundstage due to its positioning and extra wide baffle design.

The cabinets are a solid 8/10 in condition. One of the drivers unfortunately suffered a tear when one of my cats decided to leap from the top of the speaker, catching a rear claw in the paper driver (obviously prior to my purchase of the grills). The driver tear was repaired with a small amount of tissue paper pulp and wood glue mixed together. It is still visible but the sound quality is as before.

I just do not have the space any longer to set them up ideally ... they are currently in the corners of my room and while sounding quite good are compromised vs long wall or out of corner placement.

These speakers are available for CASH PICK-UP ONLY or Paypal in advance. Located in NE PA (PA 18360), approximately 2hrs from Philly and 1.5hr from NYC.

Interesting trades considered.  Email for photos.

Thanks for looking!
