The break-in time is very long in general. When you first buy these products they may not only make your music sound worse, but they will actually absorb joy from small children and the elderly if they get too close or spend too much time in a room with Elemental Voice treatments. But this is only temporary! Within a few months they will be completely broken in and fulfilling their awesome sound-improving properties and then some!
In one case a reviewer have said that they sounded
awesome right out of the box, which is rare. We tracked this down to a shipment which had a faulty packing problem. The adhesive tape on the boxes had come loose and sounds from the warehouse had entered the boxes, inadvertently breaking in the components. When we listened to the damaged items we didn't like the sound at all. Something didn't add up. We contacted the reviewer and discovered that he was a fan of industrial and electronic music. The warehouse sounds had imprinted their characteristics on the products, which for some people is a positive change. The "error" worked out for him, but it's important that the break-in is done with only the correct music that the end user likes, otherwise it would be a rather chaotic quality control process to deal with. We are now using an improved tape which has a special magnetic cardboard coating.
