« on: 8 Oct 2008, 01:41 pm »
SOLD - Ellis Audio 1901B pair in beautiful Bubbinga veneer.

The cabinets were built by www.diyspeakercabinets.com and I inserted the drivers and crossovers.

Please send me a message for a photo or goto link -  http://www.flickr.com/photos/31266228@N04/?saved=1

These look great and sound wonderful. They are about 18 months old and would compare with any retail $2k+ spealers. See Ellis Audio website (www.ellisaudio.com) for full technical details.

I will add a pair of Lovan steel stands if the asking price is met.

For pick up or delivery only in the Atlanta area - sorry no shipping.

I have over $1000 in these and am asking only $650 - Paypal or cash.

No chance you're planning on moving to the northeast in the next week, huh?  I'd take them off your hands in a second if you were local.

Hi,

At this price these speakers are a bargain.  I read posts all the time on audiocircle about cheap speakers the newbie's want to buy for their system.  They couldn't do any better than buying these speakers.

Man those are gorgeous and oh so tempting.    I can speak to the craftsmanship of the cabinets.  John made my Modula MTM cabinets too.  He is a serious woodworker.

Guys, you don't get this level of craftsmanship in any competing speaker under $1000.  You won't get the level of design and execution neither.  You won't get the parts quality (SEAS Excel, Hiquophon, caps/resistors/inductors) in anything close in price.

These speakers are a buy it and keep it speaker.  Even if your door is a revolving door for gear, this should be a trusty backup set of speakers (although that is selling them short, I'm sure).  If I wasn't room constrained, these would be mine.

I think Lonewolf (Chris) or Hogg (Jim) need another set of speakers.  They don't have enough.

That was a great deal on some beautiful speakers.  Dennis Murphy design using some world class drivers.  I was tempted but too late.

Congrats!

I am so glad these sold.  I've been lurking on this thread since the beginning drolling over these speakers, but I could only solve 2 of 3 problems:

1)  CT to Atlanta drive for speakers?  OK, I've rationalized it as a middle age road trip, and gas prices are now down.

2)  The infamous stock market collapsed decimated a huge chunk of my savings.  Solution-ignore it,  I still have $650 plus the gas money left.

3)  How to smuggle these in the house (especially after being gone all weekend on a road trip to get them) without triggering off an explosion from she who must be obeyed-or worse yet, a reciprocal (and probably greatly escalating self indulgence on her part)-problem unsolvable.

Any suggested solutions for #3 in case something similar comes up in the future?
