Von Schweikert is pretty well known around these parts as a manufacturer of quality, high performance speakers that are reasonably priced.
For sale here is a pair of their famous VR6 speakers. This pair is around ten years old, but less than two years ago, the upper enclosures (mids and tweeter enclosure) were sent to Von Schweikert for a major upgrade to the tweeters and cross-over parts. The tweeters are a top quality Focal model that are in the $125,000.00 Wilson Audio Alexandria speakers!
I rated the speakers as 6/10 cosmetically, not for any damage that has been done, but because of the quality of the finish when they were new! Anyone who has read about Von Schweikert knows that they had some quirky finish problems in their earlier days: cracks/spidering in the lacquer finish under the clear coat, ripply cabinets and joints, and this pair is no exception! However, the cabinets are still solid; nothing is loose or falling off. Email me for pictures.
But, of course all this cosmetic stuff has NOTHING to do with the performance of these 175 pound monsters; they are truly high end, full range Reference speakers. They are 96 dB efficient, so they work beautifully even with lower powered amps.

At the $12,500.00 Retail price they were a bargain, at the $5500.00 asking price, they are a steal!
The weight of these speakers make shipping an issue, (about $400.00 to $500.00) but if you're in no great hurry, there is a possibility of personal delivery in the mid-west US somewhere between the end of October and the end of November. Or, if you're within a reasonable distance of I-75 between Detroit and Tampa, Florida, there is a trip planned between the end of Nov and end of Dec.
