We had a great show in CO this year and I was pleased with the reception of our new amplifier and the first-ever ALL MODWRIGHT electronics in the system.  We were pleased to use the Running Springs Audio Jaco line conditioner, Studio Electric T3 speakers and VooDoo cabling throughout.  We also used a VPI Scout TT with speed controller, Dynavector 20X cart and upgraded motor and record weight.

We had on display, all of our sources:

Vinyl via the SWP 9.0SE.
Digital via modified Transporter.
Digital via modified Sony 9100ES.

Preamplification was our LS 36.5 'DM' with PS 36.5 external dual-mono tube power supply.

Amplification was of course our new KWA 150 SS amplifier.

So far we have been featured in the Stereophile Blog:

More photo coverage of room!

Thanks to Dave at Valley Plastics for the beautiful acrylic rack that we bought and to Marco Prozzo for the fabulous graphics work and photography for our signage: www.marcoprozzo.com

Thanks also to Dave at Studio Electric for the use of his marvelous T3 speakers at the show.  Here is more coverage from Secrets of Home Theater:

The Studio Electric T3s were also put to great use in the Modwright room, with Modwright's electronics. They've been entirely building their own amps and preamps for 5 years now, as well as continuing mods of source components. This was definitely one of the best sounding rooms at the show, and was something like 20 times less expensive than the biggest money rooms.

More show coverage from Stereotimes.  Thanks Clement!

Mod guru Dan Wright of Modwright Instruments Inc. introduced a new family member in the KWA150 stereo amplifier ($6k). This fully balanced, pure solid-state design and dual mono design has a most impressive chassis. From the short time spent in this room listening, the sound was impressively detailed and yet full-bodied too. Interestingly enough, playback was by way of a fully modified Slim Devices Transporter ($3800), which was being fed FLAC files from a server via Ethernet cabling. A fully modified Sony 9100ES CD player that Wright dubbed "the Signature Truth" employs an external tube-rectified power supply ($3500). Loudspeakers were the Studio Electric T3 ($7900 pair), while all cabling throughout was by VooDoo.

It was a pleasure seeing many of you at the show.  I would welcome your feedback here, if you visited our room.  I am very interested in what people who saw and heard the amp have to say.

Thanks,

Dan W.
