Hi guys, I am trying to overhaul a pair of Infinity Kappa bookshelfs speakers ( think its been reviewed here too in the Feb 2006 Affordable issue, and somehow I have the same conclusions about the speakers ), fortunately (!) my 3 yr old son poked a pen right through one of the woofer cones and again to my good relief the cones are out of stock and unavalable on HK website.
Anyway, what I am now trying to do, since I really like the build and finish of the Kappas, I was thinking if I could replace all the drives of the speaker with something like dyaudios which one could get along with the crossover - but then dynaudios are quite steep and if folks more knowledgable than myself can suggest me some good midbass woofers and tweeters (maybe I could let the crossovers be like it is). The specs of the speakers is : woofers 6.5", tweeters 1", impendence 6 Ohms and sensitivity 89db..
I dont like bright sounding speakers and I listen to mostly contemporary jazz and old school rock (if it helps)..
Any help and suggestions will be highly appreciated.
many thanks in advance.
Sandeep
