I'm new to audio circle and this is my first post, but I had to write a brief review of my initial experience with Frank's T8 DAC. The DAC arrived yesterday and I was anxious to hook it up in my system. I currently have a Primare CD31 as my main source and it's been the best player I've ever owned, but I was curious to try the T8. My initial impression even within the first hour of use was...WOW!!! I didn't think I could get much better than the Primare without spending mega bucks, but I truly was hearing things through the T8 on some of my favorite discs that I've never heard before. (This was within the first hour.) Everything seemed to be clearer, more defined and more life-like. I felt like I was connecting with the music like I never have before. BTW- I've heard other people talk about having that connection to music though different systems, but I really didn't know what they were talking about until now. Musicians were better placed in the recording and strings sounded more like strings. Acoustic music and voices were to die for. The bottom end was very nice as well. My wife even commented that she's never heard music like this before. I'm really a novice regarding hi-fi, but the addition of the T8 to my system has made a huge difference. It makes me wonder what the Ultra DAC is like. I'm also looking forward to spending time tonight listening to more music.
